Most people have difficulty with seeds. They do not see this as viable, and also do not have the time to cultivate them. There are simple 'cheat' methods to cultivating seeds successfully from scratch. Of course, plants are ensured growth. A lot less can go wrong with them. - well, you'd think that! BUT the truth is, even when picking what seems to be a healthy plant to put in, it may not be as green as you think. In this section, will be supplied tips on the best for your money. How to spot good plants and how to seed easily – the cheats method. Making sure your garden grows!
Good Plants:
1 - Good plants to buy, are ones that are typically not root bound. If you see a mass of roots out of the pot, or wrapped around the base of the container, do not buy them. Chances are, these plants will die within a month or two of being transferred into open ground or soil.
2 – Plenty of fresh new growth does not always mean the plant will flourish. Many gardeners make this mistake. I have too, in the past. So watch out! What you should be looking at, is the thickness to the stems above the soil. The thicker, for the particular variety of plant, the stronger its system is. Good quality.
3 – Local grown nursery plants are usually the best buys. If locally grown, the plant is more likely to already be somewhat adaptive to surviving climatological changes, environs and other factors, such as soil quality or air pollutants.
Important Tips!
Make sure you follow the directions on your plants! Most gardeners tend to ignore vital pieces and then wonder why, it died! Keep a close eye on labels, store them close to the area! Remember, some plants are poisonous to pets!
Sowing Seeds:
1 – Obviously pick a good reputable seed manufacturer. Make sure they are within their expiry date.
2 – Indoor method. Large tray. One inch deep, place on the bottom some kitchen towel and a light covering of good plant potting soil. Sprinkle water enough to make it evenly damp. Poke holes every half inch or so, and sew 2 – 4 (depending on size) seeds per hole, push soil back over. Lightly spray every day with water. Leave an inch space above and cover tray with clear-wrap.
3 - Cheats method. Invest in the 32 container greenhouses, that have little rounds of soil and holders for seeds. Just follow directions. Jiffy seeders can be bought at almost any store.
4 – Outdoor method. Make your rows, or space your holes evenly. Take a handful of your seeds and very carefully sprinkle them along the row evenly as possible. It does not matter if they clump in spots. You will be thinning them out. Then cover with 1 – 2 inches of top soil and water thoroughly!
